Lilith Leads the Way: Last Full Moon Before U.S. Election

The Full Moon in Aries is the last Full Moon before The US presidential election. While the politics are specific to United States residents, the impact of this election is worldwide. It matters who wins, and it matters what happens in the transfer of power. My friend Sarah Hamel refers to the election as “voting as harm reduction.” This is the decision the citizens of the U.S. are making on November 5.

It is clear to me that if the election goes to the Project 2025 and MAGA sect, with Trump as figurehead, we will be facing a cascade of harm to the Earth, to people of color, to women, indigenous people, to vulnerable people across the nation, to the economy, and to world peace.

On the other hand, when we elect Harris as the first woman president, we are choosing harm reduction, and a government we can work with and fight within to increase justice, well-being, free expression, and the health of the Earth.

I name this because the political situation illustrates the energy of the Full Moon, which was exact Thursday at 7:26am eastern time. The energies align to illuminate the political choices before us in the U.S. and other nations. Regardless of the election outcome, these energies give awakening humans our marching orders.

We all have work to do, together!

Lilith leads the way.

Black Moon Lilith was conjunct the New Moon Eclipse on October 2. As she slowly progresses through Libra, she still stands at the gate for the current Full Moon and the New Moon November 1.

Black Moon Lilith represents the erotic feminine principle present in all creation. Nothing is created without her womb. She also stands for soul-deep integrity: she left the garden she created rather than deny her own divinity in submission to the male principle.

Now she is reclaiming her garden – through us.

Astrology works with two other vibrations of Lilith energy. The asteroid Lilith is the personal feminine power that humans raised under patriarchy learn to disown and suppress within ourselves.

At the Full Moon Thursday, Lilith asteroid merges her energy with Pallas Athene in Sagittarius. This conjunction instructs us to use our mental and intellectual strength to resurrect the buried feminine power within us. This power comes to life through our liberated expression, our body sovereignty, our right to love and live our sexuality with openness and freedom. All else we value emanates from this basic freedom of body and Self.

Across the sky in Taurus, the Lilith Star embraces Uranus in a long union that continues through the rest of the year. The Lilith Star, aka Algol, represents the demonized goddess. In order to wrest power from the Divine Feminine, and kidnap the hearts of the people who worshipped her in her many forms, the over-culture painted her evil, and planted fear in those who loved her.

Consorting with Uranus, Lilith Star, will pierce you with surprise revelations of your own power, effectiveness, and greatness. This is how she reclaims her temple, her garden, and her rightful place in the hearts of humankind.

Lilith in all her avatars is fierce, and wrathful, and frightening. Heads will roll. When she pierces you, tremble, and build her an altar. Remember the vast love that is the nature of the Dark Goddess. Draw on her as a source of strength for the necessary work ahead of you.

The container of the next few months is held by these Lilith energies. Her fierce erotic and outraged nature is the soil that nourishes us with strength and vision.

The Sun and Moon in opposition amplify these energies. Each of the luminaries sits in potent conjunction with a planet that prepares us for what is coming.

The Sun merges with Juno. As a Dark Goddess, Juno has many overtones. In Libra with the Sun, she is the neglected and abused “good wife” who has had enough. She does what is necessary to reclaim her birthright of divine power from the patriarchal marriage. She also stands for social justice in a society is founded on the well-being of women and children (not corporations). She tell us that women, who embody the Great Mother, are the leaders who know how to organize this society. What’s good for women and children is good for the country. Women, not men, are the leaders.

Across the sky in Aries, the Moon merges with planet Eris, who stands for discord and chaos. Your inner and outer life may feel these chaotic ripples. Collectively, we have been in this for years, as Pluto and Uranus had long aspects with Eris. With the Moon, it’s personal. It’s immediate. We feel it in heightened emotions. The over-culture will fight. It will not share power. It would rather have chaos than well-being.

It’s uncomfortable, triggering, even terrifying to live in these times.

I’ve said for years that women are masters of chaos. We know how to walk, sing, love, and create through chaos. It is within our bodies, our orgasm, our birth process. We have a natural grounding to the earth that allows us to shape the chaos into the world we want to live in and leave to the next generation.

With Eris blowing open this Full Moon, we open our arms and legs to the chaos, and make feminine power out of it.

How? That’s a story for another day. Sneak preview: ritual and ceremony play a role.

During this Full Moon Season, continue the work you began at the eclipse.

Let Lilith speak to you and through you. She will guide you in the ways to speak up, speak truth, live your values … beyond the idea that all are created equal is the universal truth that all are created divine! Our diversity and our cherishing of life is what makes our community — well, Great!
